Brand Essence

REWAP is an advisory firm that happens to be exceptional at real estate. Everything in this book follows from that sentence.

1.1

Foundation

Four statements that every page, listing and conversation must be able to stand behind. They are written to be quoted internally, not printed as slogans.

Purpose
To make every Massachusetts real estate decision as clear as a well-drafted agreement.
Positioning
The brokerage founded and led by a real estate lawyer: for buyers, sellers and investors who want the transaction understood, not merely closed.
Promise
You will always know where you stand.
Line
Real estate, with clarity.
Coverage
Headquartered at 652 Park Avenue in Worcester and serving every region of Massachusetts with equal standing. Worcester is the home office, not the boundary. No region is described as “surrounding,” “also serving” or an afterthought.
1.2

The name, as written

The origin of “REWAP” has not been published, and this book does not invent one. What the name does carry is visible in the mark itself.

In the logo the first two letters stand in bronze before a navy W. Read that way, the name opens with RE, the trade’s own shorthand for real estate, and turns on the one letter the mark chose to make larger, darker and home to a house. That is a reading of the artwork, not a history of the company, and it should be used only in that spirit.

Treat REWAP as a proper name. Set it in capitals in running text, never expand it as an acronym, never add punctuation (R.E.W.A.P.), and always follow it with “Brokerage” on first reference: REWAP Brokerage. The legal name, REWAP Brokerage LLC, belongs in disclosures, contracts and the footer.

1.3

Three audiences, equal weight

Buyers, sellers and investors are served in parallel. No page leads with one at the expense of the others; each has its own path from the first screen.

Buyers
Often searching on a phone in the evening, comparing towns as much as houses. They need to understand what an offer commits them to before they make it, and they need search that respects their time. What they should feel: prepared.
Sellers
Deciding whom to trust with a price, a timeline and the legal side of a sale. They are judging judgment. What they should feel: represented by someone who has read every line.
Investors
Evaluating rental, multi-family and value-add property anywhere in the Commonwealth. They want numbers that are sourced, terms that are explained and no adjectives. What they should feel: informed enough to move quickly.
Agents & teams
Brokers, agents and affiliated groups such as The Oberdorfer Group, who operate under REWAP and keep their own names. They need a brokerage that frames their work without absorbing it.
1.4

Competitive territory

The market splits along two questions: is the brokerage selling transactions or advice, and is it led by volume or by counsel? REWAP owns the corner no franchise can credibly claim.

Positioning map Horizontal axis runs from transactional to advisory. Vertical axis runs from volume-led to counsel-led. National franchises sit volume-led and mid-transactional; discount and portal models sit transactional and volume-led; relationship boutiques sit advisory but not counsel-led; REWAP sits furthest toward advisory and counsel-led. 1.5

Personality

Five traits, each defined by what it rules out. When a decision is close, the right column decides it.

REWAP isWhich meansAnd never
ComposedCalm in the room when money and deadlines are not.Urgent, breathless, “act now.”
ExactNumbers sourced, terms defined, dates stated.Approximate, superlative, hedged into vagueness.
CandidSays the inconvenient thing early, kindly.Blunt for effect, or silent to keep a deal alive.
GroundedKnows streets, zoning and registries by name.Folksy, nostalgic, or boosterish about places.
EnduringBuilt for the client’s next transaction, and the one after.Trendy, seasonal, promotional.
1.6

Values

How the firm behaves when no one is checking. Each value has a test.

Clarity
Every client can explain, in their own words, what they have agreed to. Test: could the client summarise this document back to us?
Diligence
The fine print is read before it is signed, by someone qualified to read it. Test: has anything in this file gone unreviewed?
Candor
Advice serves the client’s position, including when the advice is to wait or walk away. Test: would we say this if it cost us the commission?
Stewardship
A client relationship is measured in years and properties, not in one closing. Test: will this decision still look right in five years?
Equal standing
Every region, property type and client budget receives the same standard of care. Test: would we describe this town, or this client, differently if it were wealthier?
1.7

Differentiators

Only claims the firm can prove today. Add to this list only with evidence.

  • Attorney-foundedFounded and led by Hong Tran, a practicing real estate lawyer. Legal literacy sits at the center of the transaction rather than being referred out at the end.
  • Statewide, from WorcesterA home office at 652 Park Avenue and equal standing for every Massachusetts region.
  • Three disciplinesBuying, selling and investment advice offered as distinct services, each with its own path.
  • Teams keep their namesAffiliated teams such as The Oberdorfer Group operate under REWAP with their own identity, presented side by side, never merged.
  • Responsive by designA firm small enough that the person you speak to is the person accountable.

Not claimed until evidenced: sales volume, transaction counts, years in business, rankings, awards or reviews. Where a live source will supply them, layouts show a labelled placeholder.

1.8

Emotional objective

From uncertainty to composure.

The feeling of having read the fine print, and understood it. A visitor should leave any REWAP page calmer and better informed than when they arrived, whether or not they contact the firm.

1.9

Voice

Plain, exact and unhurried. REWAP writes the way a good attorney explains a contract to a client they respect: no jargon left undefined, no adjective doing a number’s job.

  • Lead with the answerState the conclusion first, then the reasoning. Headlines are statements, not teasers.
  • Define, then useTerms such as “contingency,” “earnest money” or “title insurance” are explained in a clause the first time they appear on a page.
  • Numbers over adjectives“1,840 square feet, built 1912” rather than “spacious historic home.” If a number is unknown, say so.
  • Describe places, not peopleFair Housing applies to every word. Describe properties, streets and amenities; never the people who live, or should live, there.
  • Short sentences, complete thoughtsOne idea per sentence. No exclamation marks. No ellipses.
